Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at hello@harbourminds.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

No — you can self-refer directly by contacting us. No referral is required.

You can email us at hello@harbourminds.co.uk or use our online booking system (coming soon).

We aim to offer appointments as quickly as possible, typically within 2–4 weeks, depending on availability.

About Counselling

Sessions are 50 minutes long and offer a safe, confidential space to explore what’s going on for you — at your pace.

Yes. Everything you share remains confidential unless there is a risk to yourself or others. Your counsellor will explain this clearly at the start.

Student counsellors are in the final stages of professional training and work under close supervision. Qualified counsellors have completed all training and may offer more specialised support.

Costs & Payments

  • Student counsellor session: £25
  • Qualified therapist session: £40–75
  • Individual supervision: £30
  • Group supervision: £15 per person

Yes. Weekly invoices or automatic payments will be arranged before your first session.

We aim to keep costs low, and where possible, we may offer subsidised sessions or signpost to free services.

Safeguarding & Ethics

Yes — we are a registered CIC (Community Interest Company). All counsellors work under BACP or NCPS ethical frameworks and receive regular clinical supervision.

We take concerns seriously. You can raise them directly with your counsellor, or email us in confidence. We follow a clear complaints process in line with our policies.

Placements & Volunteering

We accept student applications from approved UK universities. Please email us with your course details and availability.

Absolutely. From administration to events and outreach, we welcome community support.
